Animals Teach Us About Life

A speaker at my executive round table group tells the story about what Dale Carnegie, in the book “How to Win Friends and Influence People,” said about dogs.

A dog is the only animal that doesn’t have to work for a living. A hen has to lay eggs, a cow has to give milk, and a canary has to sing. But a dog make his living by giving you nothing but love.

He suggested that, if we want to win more friends, we ought to study the technique of the greatest winner of friends the world has ever known – a dog.

A Dog’s Love Shows Us How To Support Other and Be Loyal

The story gets me thinking about life and career. I believe animals were put on this earth to teach humans how to be better versions of ourselves.

What would happen if this week if you and I showed the type of loyalty and support to others that I see my dogs Bishop and Angel giving naturally?

What if we showed a little more unconditional care and concern to people in our lives? We can reach out when we see someone struggling. We can reconnect with friends we’ve been too busy for. We can make things right where they have been wrong. We can encourage everyone around us by smiling and being optimistic and positive. We can leave handwritten love notes to our loved ones.

That’s where humans can take the qualities of our pets to the next level.

Now go be the best version of you and share this with others!  Woof 🙂

Kevin
